Trivets

Trivets need to be functional first.

They tend to be one-of-a-kind and therefore available on a first-come, first-served basis. Some of those shown below have been sold, but I include them here to give you an idea of the styles I make.

In addition to being functional, there’s no reason they can’t also be beautiful. My trivets are both. Some are off-set, some octagonal, some with textured surfaces; all are lovingly made and ready to use. They take pride of place at any dining table.

The textured trivets are not for out-of-the-oven hot dishes. Ceramic-based trivets should be used for that. The textured trivets are made with a 100 year old gouge and a mallet. With an average of 1200 mallet-strikes per trivet, they are carefully made!
